The movie is very plain and simple. Best friends, artificial insemination, father-son, family, happy forever after, the end. But it got me teary-eyed somehow, and Sebastian was very cute. So please....to all movie producers of Hollywood... MAKE MORE MOVIES OF THOMAS ROBINSON BEFORE HE GROWS UP! We might not like him when he starts growing puberty hair!
Through the years, ancient Greeks making up gods and goddesses as their pastime has made them the greatest storytellers in the world; and their stories, exceptionally clever in nature, have become the world's most fancied myths today.
I have always been interested following the incredibly extensive genealogy of the Greek gods that matching each of them to their respective sovereignty seems endless. Its entirety is unimaginably huge that way back in high school, only the most important records of the most significant gods were discussed to us (Perseus included). Since then, the Greek literature has been the masterwork I've admired very much.
That's why I watched Clash of the Titans on a Black Saturday. It's got one heck of cinematography, and the action scenes were much more worth the pay than the plot, which came out with a less Greeky bulk than I expected.
Having watched the original version (which was close to the literature), I was kind of confused watching the remake in a very fast pace. The movie seemed too brief and scanty of details, that for somebody who hasn't ever come across a bit of Greek mythology, it might only look like a huge ball of strangled wires with gigantic scorpion pincers attached to it.
It's actually the action that provoked me to watch the movie. Sure enough, it was fun and entertaining (especially the Medusa part, haha). The action and the excitement may be a big WOW, but one might end up asking himself what plot he paid for. Also, if literature is to be concerned, the movie really doesn't follow it nicely (a lot of interchanges with the characters and the movie's plot is different to the literature).
Sam Worthington now gives life to the demi-god Perseus. He's been doing a lot of action recently yet still shows the same impressiveness since Avatar and Terminator Salvation. The other leads did a great job with their roles too, not to mention Ralph Fiennes who seems to bring in Voldemort to the movie. And of course, the gorgeous Gemma Arterton, though a little bit awkward, is more of an angel than the ageless Io.
Though the plot is a little flawed and the lack of details seems to create confusion, the movie is actually enjoyable and entertaining to watch. It's got great visual effects that shouldn't be missed in 3D (though I did).
While watching it, I felt like I was watching Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
The whole concept of fire-breathing dragons would have flopped if it weren't for Hiccup and Toothless who surely made the movie hilariously and enjoyably watchable. Though it would have been greater in 3D, it still made its way too impressing for the viewers to watch not only once but twice --- like me ^_^.
The movie takes us away amongst the endless telltales and versions on dragons. The dragon legend is creatively enlivened by every scene of the movie. Personally, I enjoyed gluing my eyes over Toothless and earring on semantics that was convincingly Viking.
Other than all the classifications of dragons, the storyline is also a pleaser. It is simply detailed, comprehensibly sequenced, and direct to the affection of the young and old watchers alike. The lines are well-worded, and the punchlines are hitting. The only thing that appalled me was the dragon boss which barely howled its monstrosity than its despicable ugliness.
It's a crowd pleaser. It's recommendable to families and to those looking for a good watch to unwind. It's got plenty of lessons and touchy lines that'll add up to your life learnings. And prepare those thumbs for one big UP.
Movies concerning the dead people walking on the highways are likely the most eminent ones when it comes to American horror movies. From the Resident Evil series to the Dawn of the Dead, similar movies talking about such almost share the same spice and the same bloody scenes after they make their way to scaring off the viewers on the silver screen.
The Loch Ness sea monster has been a legend since 1933 in Scotland. Evidences of its existence so far were just photographs and no physical appearance has proven its existence up to this day.
The movie was great espescially when I observed the development of the bonds between Angus and Crusoe. The movie was produced by Walden Media, the same production that brought to us The Chronicles of Narnia. The creation of Crusoe was also made possible by the visual effects companies of the Lord of the Rings which worked with Walden Media. Aside from its visual effects, the plot was also great! The chase between Crusoe and the bulldog was funny. Crusoe was so adorable. I hate the dog, good thing it died! Haha. Don't worry, nobody else died, and it ended happily. :P I recommend it for everyone! Great movie, great plot, excellent visual effects.
200 pounds of beauty, another of Korea’s peculiar plotted movies tells us the story about Hanna, a lip sync vocalist of the famous pop singer, Ammy.
Even though she is always ignored because of her appearance, she has been a bright and lighthearted girl until Ammy humiliates her in front of Sang-jun, her secret love.
Finally, she makes her decision to undergo a plastic surgery all over her body. Ammy was dismissed from her disguised stardom as Hanna, now Jenny, moves over the slot. Sang-jun who becomes her manager later discovers that Hanna was the same person as Jenny, later bringing Jenny’s career complicated from its incredible upsurge.
The movie didn’t end with Hanna and Sang-jun in love. After confessing in front of a multitude during her debut concert, Hanna gained several fans as well as loathers. She learned to live the transformed Hanna simply as she walks herself to an even bigger prominence.
I liked the movie because of its amusing scenes, especially the way Hanna convinced the plastic surgeon for a free operation. After the surgery, the funny reactions of several encounters amused me as well. Hanna/Jenny was gorgeous. Some Koreans said that the actress had undergone plastic surgery in real life. If she really had, the surgery sure looks perfect.
The movie teaches about living a life whatever and whoever you are; accepting what is yours or how you look like regardless of its changeabilities. There are unique parts in us other than being physically attractive or whatever. Hanna for one, even though obese, had a good singing voice but was neglected only as a lip sync due to her appearance. The decision she made led her to her greatest remorse but sooner realized that what was done was now all the regrets and that she had to move on. Her confession during her concert was really the courageous part. The crowd accepted her in the end, though some looked down to her as the same fat Hanna.
After an awkward yet memorable encounter at a stag party, Evo (Richard Gutierrez) and Grace (Marian Rivera) thought they would never see each other again. Little did they know that Grace is actually the girlfriend of Evo’s best friend, Mark (’JC de Vera’ ). As the arrogant player that he is, Evo takes advantage of what happened at the party to make Grace agree to his demands. He forces Grace to pretend as his girlfriend to make Akiko (Ehra Madrigal), his ex, jealous. But, they will accidentally fall in love to each other.
Who would miss an overflowing burst of cliche but this one! I would commend this movie as one of those rare Filipino romance next to Close to You. Marian Rivera was very stunning. She was beautiful and overwhelmingly impressive in her acting. I didn’t even expect Richard Guitterez to do well since I last saw him in his previous cameos.
The script was written well and the punchlines were immediately catching to the audience. The casts were also picked well as several newcomers to the big screen made their way to remarkable commencements. The plot is unique and the screenplay was also great receiving positive feedbacks from its reviewers as it grossed high nationwide.
It was a bit painful to the eyes. The swift changing of pictures, flashes of scenes and the motion effects had my eyes chase every detail. I missed some points in the movie but Eden filled the gap after the lounge.
The movie was spectacularly done. The idea of teleportation was superb compared to Hiro’s shift and freeze scenes. The plot was quite hanging in the end though since the movie didn’t explain how JUMPERS started existing.
Although the theater wasn’t that excellent, we enjoyed the movie well. Hayden Christensen was just fit for the role. The movie ended without a hint for a sequel but who knows.
